As a new year began, Palestinians in Gaza continued to put hopes in a fragile ceasefire.

Israel has killed more than 71,384 Palestinians in Gaza since October 7, 2023.

Israel enacted new rules for NGOs operating in Gaza on January 1st, further restricting

what little aid is available to Palestinians

there.

Late December 2025, Israel announced that 37 humanitarian NGOs operating in Gaza would

be banned or suspended from operating in the territory

if they did not meet the criteria of the new Israeli registration system that requires from each organization

to provide a detailed list of its employees, including Palestinian staff, and also providing further personal identification,

information for Israeli security vetting. Under the first phase of the ceasefire agreement,

the strip must be witnessing some sort of comprehensive alleviation for the humanitarian crisis.

emphasizing the fact that Gaza did not receive the essential humanitarian needs in order to

alleviate the family living conditions and also to improve the lifestyle of living here in the
