It is day 345 of the war in Gaza, where more than 41,000 182 Palestinians have been killed.

On Saturday, Palestinians returning to the Zaytune neighborhood of Gaza's city found widespread destruction

in the wake of an Israeli operation there that lasted nearly three weeks.

Al Jazeera's Moad al-Khalut spoke with residents as they surveyed the rubble.

Residents who used to live in this neighborhood are returning to their homes,

but they still have concerns about the going back as there's a strong presence of quad captains and fighter jets

in this area which are flying at low levels in addition to the hit and run operations

that might happen in this area as we are adjacent to the Nitsarim area and we are close to where the Israeli army are stationed.

With the drone from this place doesn't mean it is a safe place, but the Israelis might threaten attack anything mobile on the ground as they did in too many different places.

Elsewhere in Gaza, displaced Palestinians seeking shelter,

told Al Jazeera they would no longer pitch tents in zones declared safe by the Israeli military after it

continued to bomb those areas this week.

One of those people was Mohamed Al-Kurra, who said he preferred living in a tent near his destroyed

home than seeking refuge in overcrowded shelters that have also become targets.

The situation is very dangerous, but we have no other place to go.

Still, here is the best place compared to the schools.

There, the situation is bad due to the sewers in the overcrowded classrooms where each one hosts 20 families.
