Hello, my name is Matthew Ziggandis, welcome to the Bridgetown Daily for June 17th.

Today we want to share a song with you that we sing at our church called We Will Sing.

It's all about recognizing God's faithfulness, His goodness, and in response singing, lifting

your hands, thanking Him and praising Him.

Here in our community at Bridgetown we're coming off from a week of lamenting and grieving

the hurt and pain in our world.

I just want to be clear that we don't think you do that in one week, check it off the

list and move on.

Greaf and lament is something that takes time.

It's a process, so just keep that in mind.

But as we do move forward, I want to just look at the book of Psalms to remind us that

there's a rhythm to our grieving and lamenting.

You acknowledge the pain and then on the other side there's joy and there's worship and

there's praise.

The book of Psalms teaches us how to feel what's going on in the world, how to process

the hurt, the pain, and bring it before God.

Sometimes in songs of joy and then other times in Psalms of lament.

And so I just want to look at a few that I think embody really well what it looks like

to lament and grieve and then turn to give God praise and worship.

So first, let's look at Psalm 10.

Why Lord do you stand far off?

Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
