Thank you for last week off for the Fourth of July holiday.

As you can imagine, myself and our staff are just a little bit tired from the last few

months.

On that note, every summer in August, we do something that we call FALO season, which

is an idea we stole from our friends and family down at RealitySF.

It's based on the running metaphor all through the New Testament for pastoral work as similar

to farming in that, if you think about the Agrarian calendar year, which most of us urbanites

are very unfamiliar with.

But it's not all go all the time, 110%, 365.

There are seasons to the year, seasons of plowing and seasons of reaping.

And there are FALO seasons where you just let the ground lie, FALO, you just wait.

You don't tear it up or plant or weed or take produce from it.

You just let it be.

And so every July and August, we have what we call FALO season where basically you put

a moratorium on any extra event for the church outside of Sunday and our Bridgetown communities.

And we take a ton of AK, all of our summer vacation as a staff.

And then in August, as a special treat, we give our staff a three day weekend and extra

day off for four weekends or whatever in August.

And we look forward to it all year long as it's a little bit of just a breath before
