0:16.2	A couple of weeks ago, I was talking with a dear friend of mine who threw out the word
0:21.1	to me, magnanimity.
0:24.2	Big word, big meaning.
0:26.1	Now in truth, the word does not just roll off the tip of my tongue very often, but the
0:30.3	more we discuss its meaning, the more I want to access this word.
0:35.8	The early 20th century Catholic German philosopher Joseph Piper defines the virtue of magnanimity
0:44.0	as the aspiration of the human spirit to great things and the courage to seek what is great
0:51.6	and become worthy of it.
0:54.3	In short, this means to me to aspire to and pursue human greatness and become the best
1:02.0	version of oneself.
1:04.4	Of course we do this through the mercy of God, the one who leads us, the one who defines
1:09.0	us, the one who heals us.
1:11.5	In the end, it comes down to where we put our trust in Jesus.
1:16.6	He is the one who paves the way for us.
1:19.6	It requires that we trust Him and follow Him.
1:22.2	This is a journey.
1:23.6	And it's a journey we all take together.
