Really happy to be with you on Wednesday, April 8th.

It is a beautiful sunny day here in Portland.

This is the days that we live for.

I hope you are getting out and enjoying it going for a walk riding a bike.

I've seen people in my neighborhood just out constantly enjoying this great weather.

Stay at home, stay healthy, but also get out when you can and do a walk.

Stay six feet, all of that.

What we're going to do today is I just want to lead you in a simple,

imaginative prayer exercise to receive God's loving affirmation.

This comes from really this moment where we see God, the Father's affectionate,

approval, loving affirmation of Jesus the Son, at the baptism of Jesus.

If you have time to turn there later, you might want to look at Matthew 3,

this beautiful moment where God, the Father, booms His voice of affirmation out of heaven

onto the Son as the Son is being baptized.

This beautiful, trinitarian moment when the Father, the Son, and the Spirit are there together.

Absolutely beautiful.

What we see from that is that this idea that at the center of the universe,

the center of everything we know is a Father loving a child.

And that Father loves you in the exact same way that He loves Jesus.

It's this intimate love, this deep abiding, tender affectionate belonging.
