Hello and welcome to the Bridgestown Daily podcast. My name is Pete Hughes. Together

0:08.2

with my wife, we lead a church in Central London called KXC. It's right the

0:13.5

half-london place called Kings Cross. So today I'm going to be stepping in for John

0:17.8

Mark, who is a dear dear friend. And before I launch in, can I just say how much

0:23.7

we love and appreciate Bridgestown as a church community having visited a year or

1:19.9

back. The point of the wilderness at least biblically speaking is that when

1:24.3

everything else is stripped back, all the other attachments, all the other

1:27.3

idols dismantled in the wilderness, we discover what matters most and that's the

1:33.7

place where we encounter God and we begin to hear his still small voice of

1:38.0

affirmation over us. I believe that is what we're being invited into. So let's

1:43.2

look at the model of Jesus. Now in fact before we do that, let me just
