Well, hello and welcome to the Bridge Town Daily from May 8th.

I'm Dana Dooley from Genesis Collective in Costa Mesa, California, standing in 4-1

and only John Mark Cobra.

Now I would love to be up in Portland with all of you, getting to see your faces and speaking

about Jesus in person.

But since that is not our current reality, I send a deep love and affection for you as

a community.

It was about this time last year that myself and my husband had the privilege of being

with you and I long for the days where that reality can once again be ours.

But until then, may you be encouraged and strengthened by his truth this morning.

So last week, I came across a hymn that I had never read before, or a song written by Charles

Wesley.

And its opening verse begins with this line, weary souls that wander wide from the central

point of bliss.

It reminded me of another more well-known hymn, O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm

constrained to be.

Let thy goodness, like a feather, bind my wandering heart to thee.

For I am prone to wander, Lord, I feel it prone to leave the God I love.

And it got me thinking about how all too often I find myself far from what Wesley beautifully

called that central point of bliss, that goodness, that grace, that kind of fountain, how

easily and honestly, unconsciously I wander from his presence.
