Micah 7-8 Do not have joy over me, you who hate me.

When I fall, I will rise.

Even though I am in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

Have you ever thought about how bizarre it is that we are like batteries that only last

half a day?

Human beings are literally made to sleep, almost half their life.

Prior to this moment, believe it or not, people used to sleep a lot more than 6-8 hours

a night.

Sleep scientists say that 8 hours is a minimum, but there was a time in history where most

people would sleep anywhere from 11-13 hours a night.

We are made to malfunction if we don't switch off for a significant part of our lives.

We are on this earth for such a short amount of time and such a massive amount of that

time is taken up by us lying down, closing our eyes, becoming completely unaware of the

world around us, diving into this dark, subconscious, strange, luminous place that we call the dream

life, and being 100% completely vulnerable.

We were made to rest.

And in that moment when we lie down in the middle of the night, everything is dark.

It's not just dark to us and our souls, but it's dark around us.
