There is a Wall Street Journal report on Sunday that confirmed globally what various local reports had shown that government efforts that bribing people into having babies aren't working.

The journal reported,

imagine if having children came with more than $150,000 in cheap loans,

a subsidized minivan, and a lifetime exemption from income taxes,

and asked,

Oh, yeah, these are all various schemes that have been tried in different countries.

South Korea is doing the minivan thing and the cheap loans.

I think it's hungry that's doing the income tax thing.

Governments all over the world are trying this because, you know, birth rates are plummeting

all over the world.

Well, as it turns out, people aren't taking the bribes.

Reversing the decline of birth rates has become a national priority in China, in Russia. Vladimir Putin

declared 2014 the year of the family. I mean, not so much in Ukraine where he's blowing them up,

but at least in Russia. In the U.S., Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, a pledge to offer up new family

policies. J.D. Vance says we should have a $5,000 tax credit. Harris came back and said it should be a

$6,000 baby bonus. And folks, I got to tell you, $6,000 is one year of car insurance
