So last night was absolutely epic.

We kicked off the Brian for Mayor world tour.

This is me going to every single one

of the 33 boroughs in London to come meet you,

talk to you, listen to you, find out what your challenges are and explain to you my plans to take London in a new direction,

my plans to become your next mayor of London.

And it was awesome last night.

We chose the borough of Hackney, and we went to Hummerton.

Now, Hummerton is a place that's actually quite dear to my heart,

because from 2010 to 2011, every Saturday, I got on my bike and I rode down

the canals and I rode through Victoria Park and I went to Homerton and I picked up a young man

named Shadeh and Shaday was nine years old when I met him and he was suffering from behavioral

difficulties in class. His mom, you know, been separated from his mom when he was younger.

She'd gone to prison.

And he just dealt with a lot of stuff.

And he was just acting up at school.

And what he really needed was a role model.

His mom was back now, but there were no male mentors in his life.

And so I signed up for a year to mentor Chadeh.

And so every Saturday I would ride my bike over there

and spend three or four hours with this young man

and we would just do stuff.
