Hello and welcome to the Life's Best Medicine podcast. This could be my last episode. I'm bringing

on Iver Cummins. I have royalty here, the Fat Emperor. This guy, I'm just going to tell you a background,

because this guy, I don't even know if Iver knows this, but one of the hugest influences on me

in medicine has been Iver, a stinking engineer who started talking about this crazy craft test

and insulin levels.

And I heard him give this lecture and I was like, yeah, it's nice.

But I'm the doctor.

You're an engineer.

You're not facing attorneys and legal fees and all this stuff.

But he talked about the importance of insulin.

And so I went back to my practice because I believe in trust, but verify. And I checked all my patients who had major cardiac events, multiple stents,

bypass surgery. And lo and behold, every single one of them had high insulin levels, right?

Every single one, without exception. I thought, this crazy guy might be right, you know.

And I started looking at coronary calcium scores, and he saved a lot of my patients because I said, you know, they have low clinical risk. Let's just check and see a huge coronary calcium or a very high LDL with zero coronary calcium. So these are important things. And so Iver is into root cause. And he's a crazy combination of people.

I'll talk a little bit more about that. But first, I want to welcome you, man. Thanks for all you're

doing. Then you took a huge stance on COVID at the very beginning and reviewed all the data in

literature and talked to world experts. And you stood up against like everyone everyone and I was like man either Ivers

gone off his rails but I had the misfortune of knowing you and knowing your integrity because

you know a lot of the slides and another thing for people to understand uh you know I started talking about

this stuff and I said Iver can I use one of your slides he goes here's my slides that use whatever

you want right so I use his slides all the time every one of my talks I use one of your slides? He goes, here's my slides that use whatever you want, right? So I use his slides all the time. Every one of my talks, I use one of his slides at least, multiple usually. Ben Bickman's another one like that. You know, a lot of people, Jason Fung is another one. So, you know, I really think it's important that people know who these people are behind the scenes, the character, integrity, kindness. Yeah, he was the first guy in this low-carb community goes, hey, let's have a cup of coffee and I'll explain this stuff to you, Doc, because you clearly don't get it, right? So, you know, Iver welcome. It really is an honor having you and I appreciate all you're doing. And man, you are a tough dude, man.

There's no doubt about that.
