Brian Leaf, author of Misadventures of a Garden State Yogi and Misadventures of a Parenting Yogi, is a mutual friend of J’s producer. They knew of each other for years but this is the first time they actually met. They discuss Brian’s work helping students manage ADD and overcome standardized-tests, how he overcame ulcerative colitis through yoga and Ayurveda, his devotion to Swami Kripalu, and what it means to come from a place of knowing. They also touch on the role of intuition in Brian’s most recent book, The Teacher Appears.

0:29.1	Around here, where I am,
0:34.9	it feels like there's a blanket of dread on everything.
0:38.6	I don't know if that's just around here.
0:41.1	Maybe it's different where you are.
0:51.8	But it just seems like there's an off-putting taste to reality right now.

0:57.3	Maybe it's just me because I tuned into the news today,
1:06.1	which I haven't been doing, and just one story after the next, nothing good. And I think I might have jinxed myself a little bit. If you were listening last week, you'll remember I was like,
1:12.3	raving about what a good mood I was in. Turns out the passenger side airbag in my car is one of those Ticada bags. You
1:21.1	have you heard that story? Well, guess what? I got one of the recalled Taccata airbags in my car.
1:28.9	I got to get that change.
1:30.2	So you call one place and they don't have an appointment until April.
1:35.9	I'm not supposed to let anybody you drive in the front seat apparently because if the airbag deploys, they could die, apparently.
1:45.6	So fortunately, I called another place.
1:47.3	They have an appointment next month.
1:49.1	But still, in the meantime, I'm not supposed to let anybody drive in the front seat.
1:53.8	It's not like someone hasn't been driving in the front seat up until now.
1:57.8	But now that I know, right?
2:05.9	So there was that. And then the other thing is, I got a bum tooth. I got to get more dental work done. You know, I knew it. I was in my early 20s.
