Summary

Welcome to the Pretty Intense Podcast. We are getting into a realm today that is truly one of my favorite topics, Physics. We have Professor Brian Cox CBE with us today who is a British Rock Star of Physics. We talked about black holes, consciousness, space and time, fractals, so many areas of science. When we learn more and more about the universe we learn what our role in the universe is, and how to live our lives. We talked about aliens, extraterrestrials, and Brian's big life question. You can catch the Brian Cox full experience, which is on its North American Tour right now. Tickets on sale at https://briancoxlive.co.uk. We hope you enjoy this hyper galactic episode.

If life began on Mars, it probably began around the same time

0:41.0

that it began on Earth, so three and a half four billion years ago but on earth so kind of paradoxically it's much harder to look back in time because earth's active it's got weather it's got you know volcanoes, plate tectonics, all this stuff. So the surface is constantly being renewed and so it's very, very hard to get samples from Earth of Earth as it was three and a half to four billion years ago.

1:07.0

Whereas on Mars, it stopped being geologically active about three and a half billion years ago. So it's been in deep freeze and so these river deltas that perseverance is roving across now are pristine river deltas from three and a half billion years ago, their time capsules.

1:26.0

So it might be easier to understand the origin of life if it began on Mars.

1:31.5

It might be much easier to do so than it is on our own planet.

But in fact, we have, we kind of enter into a little bit of those realms,

1:52.8

because within the realm of physics,

1:55.1

we have Brian Cox on the show today,

1:56.8

who's a British rock star physicist.

1:59.1

Theory of anything started with an idea.

2:01.3

We talked about black holes, consciousness, space and time,

2:05.8

fractals, like so many areas of physics and science in the universe that I just I just love it and as we learn and understand more and more about our universe we know our role in it and know how to live our lives and so that's why I love it so much.
