the election but how are things going on the promise front particularly in the area of manifestos?

What level of scepticism are they being greeted with or with wide open arms? Well, it is scepticism, of course.

I mean, our hard-bitten colleagues in the British media love nothing better than tearing a manifesto apart.

And they do take manifestos rather seriously here in British politics much more so than will be the case back home in Ireland.
