We think we found the epicentre of Davos, which is the health juice bar, which has turnip, beach root and blood orange today.

It is the conference centre of a week-long gathering that brings together the most powerful people in the world.

Yeah, and they've all come here to this one little ski town to talk some of the big issues that the world faces.

But on the sidelines, endless meetings, cutting deals.

And the first time I came here to Davos was when Tony Blair was Prime Minister,

I'd come to interview.

I go to this room where I'm told he will be.

And I walk into the room, and there walk into the room and there is Tony Blair

and there is Desmond Tutu Bill Gates and Melinda Gates it just goes on and on Claudia

Schiefer supermodel Bono pop star and I was the only person in that room I hadn't heard of and it was

as though Madame Two Swords had come to life that is what Davos feels like

so much has changed now everyone else comes here because they've heard that John Soaple's on the

guest list yeah right but we're going to take you away from the formal stuffy setting of the

conference hall and go in search of some fine Swiss mountain air on the streets outside.

We've come out onto the high street, the promenade as it's called, to get some fresh air,

except it's not really that fresh. There is a solid line of blacked out SUVs and limos that are presumably transferring hugely important and wealthy

people from one meeting to another while all the normal shop fronts have been converted. So in front

of me, HCL Tech, supercharging progress, Stromback, Media House, Axios, one big thing about Axios House at Davos. And so it goes on.

This is all about sustainable development. And yet, as you've heard, the engines never stop running here.

And one in ten of the delegates arrived by private jet. How's that for sustainable and climate change related?
