Regent College in Vancouver. I want to give a brief intro real quick here. We have another

podcast called In Parallel, which looks at the intersection between biblical and contemporary poetry.

And a few years back, we started this with Brent Strawn, who hosts it. And so it's the third of our podcast in addition to this one on script and the Biblical World

podcast.

So definitely subscribe to that because we're going to be recording in hopefully not

to do some future, some other episodes that will be a kind of second season.

So this one is the seventh that we've done.

It's kind of like the long-awaited end to the first season.

So you can think that that way, and then we'll be doing another round.

So I hope you enjoy this, and we're sort of broadcasting it on our on-script feed

so that we can introduce people to it who haven't heard it before.

I'm your host, Brent Strawn. I'm a biblical scholar and theologian. I teach at Duke University,

where I'm professor of Old Testament and professor of law.

Poetry, as we have had occasion to observe in previous episodes of this podcast, redounds in imagery.

Imagery is absolutely crucial to poetry. Poems live on images. This explains, among other things,

the 20th century imagistic movement.

One of the great poets associated with imagism, William Carlos Williams, put the matter this way.
