John Brennan was the director of the CIA at a critical moment when the US intelligence

community in the summer of 2016 was collecting explosive information about Russia's

effort to disrupt an American election.

Not only that, he was receiving reports about multiple contacts between members of Donald

Trump's campaign and Kremlin cutouts.

Inside the government, Brennan tried to sound the alarm and maybe even prod the FBI to investigate.

Now that he's out of office, Brennan has been merciless in his criticism of President

Trump, accusing him of being a demagogue, a vinality, and political corruption.

But has Brennan crossed a line?

And is he possibly even playing into Vladimir Putin's hands in the Russian President's

ongoing efforts to sow discord inside the American government?
