similar situation. So without further ado, let's go over to Jenny. Good morning, Jenny, and welcome

to Who's Tom and Dick? Good morning. We have covered breast cancer in the past, but for you,

how did you find out you had breast cancer? Do you have any symptoms? What was the trigger for you?

The short answer is yes, I had symptoms. The longer answer is that I didn't realize they were

symptoms until after I was diagnosed. The reality here, you guys, is that I am almost 50 years old

and I'm in perimenopause and when you get to

be my age and you're in perimenopause, every doctor dismisses everything you feel as perimenopause.

Perimenopause has like a hundred symptoms. So all of the symptoms that I now know are cancer

were pretty much dismissed as being perimenopause. I was having headaches.

I was overly tired. One of the biggest things I was experiencing and actually still am is that my right

breast hurts all the time. And they said, oh, it's just the hormonal changes of getting older

and entering the phase. But there were two symptoms that I had that I wish

somebody thought to look at deeper. One was that my right arm aches like three or four days a week.

And like I go to the gym. So my doctor was like, oh yeah, it's just because you're going to the

gym, you're working it out. It's just tired. You're getting older. Not a big deal.
