On today's episode, we're going to talk about breakups,

the ideal Sunday partner in crime, and the best fall drinks.

Breakups.

Unfortunately, there's no way to be coming to expert on them without actually living through them,

which really is an ideal.

I put them on par with losing a job.

It's not the end of the world, but it just feels like the end of the world for about 72 hours.

Frankly, I've been lucky.

I've either kept my breakups at an arms length or I've realized the downturn before it becomes toxic.

In the pantheon of things that bring on severe anxiety, the end of relationship,

any relationship, is up there at the top.

There's a lot of talk about ghosting, breadcrumbing, and whatever else you want to dress up as an

acceptable or unacceptable way to break up with someone. But deep down, everything kind of hurts

whether you're the instigator, whether you're sitting at the other side of the table on the

receiving end. Deep down, I don't think there's anything I can actually say that will make you feel

better about being dumped. Everything's going to be okay. Maybe you'll find someone else.

Perhaps you should spend more time on yourself? None of it helps. I know it and you know it.

But as someone who's been there and someone who's tried to help friends who've been there,

I came up with a system by no means as a flawless, but it's a system nonetheless.

Being broken up with throws your entire compass off, so you need to remember one simple number.
