Many eyeing a big win ahead of the midterm, Senator Schumer and Mansion, who had been holding out a brokering this

deal behind closed doors, and we're going to explain what it means. So I'm calling it the most ambitious

climate action ever undertaken by the United States. That's how the Times put it. And Medicare

would then regulate the price of prescription drugs in order to negotiate, which would actually

help a lot of people who need drugs, according to the experts, also raise taxes on corporations,

1:47.2

These are big campaign promises, and he's incredibly gratified by the deal that came together.

1:52.4

And he is incredibly grateful.

1:53.9

You ask, you know, how it came together.

1:55.6

He's incredibly grateful for the work of Senator Mansion, Senator Schumer, and people who have been working on this quite literally around the clock for months and months and months.

2:05.9

So a lot of work and an enormous, enormous step forward for American families.

2:10.4

How did you get Manchin?

2:12.5

Well, I let Senator Manchin speak for himself, but, you know, he has negotiated in good faith.

2:18.2

These conversations have obviously been, as you all know, you've been covering it, have been ongoing for a long time.
