But first, eight countries that share the Amazon rainforest have agreed to form an alliance

to fight deforestation. Meeting in Brazil, they've promised to make sure the forest

doesn't reach a tipping point when it would lose its ability to regenerate from the damage caused

by droughts, fires, mining and tree logging. In his opening speech, the host, President

Louis Anasio Lula de Silva, highlighted how crucial the world's biggest rainforest is,
