Welcome to a special edition of the Breakpoint podcast. I'm John Stone Street, host of Breakpoint, and president of the Colston Center. For weeks now leading up to the election, the Colson Center has been hosting every Wednesday morning at 10.30 Eastern, a time of prayer for the church and the nation, led by some of our ministry partners, our colleagues, some of the Christian leaders from around

the country. They've been incredibly important times where we've been reminded that how the church

is responding to the culture is far more important than what the culture is trying to do or not

do to us as Christians. Now, this week, of course, has been particularly chaotic as I'm recording this

here on Thursday morning, it's still not clear who will be president. It's still not clear when

the official ballot counts will be in, and it's certainly not clear for how long they will be

challenged. Still, in light of all of that chaos, the observations this past

Wednesday morning, the morning after the election from my friend Ed Stetzer, were particularly

important. In his challenge, which he issued to us in his prayers, we heard again, and very

important, specific, and clarifying terms,

just what kind of church the world needs right now,

what kind of character that we as Christians are being called to right now

and the opportunities that are in front of us to champion the kingdom of God,

even as we're citizens of this time and this place. And that's why I wanted to share this in this special additional episode of the Breakpoint

podcast. Here's my friend, the director of the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College, Ed Stetzer.

We want to remind ourselves. I was actually, my

original assignment was to pray for the newly elected or reelected president. And of course,

we don't know who that will be at this point. So it does remind us a bit of Isaiah chapter 6.

And Isaiah chapter 6, verse 1, it says, in the year King Uzziah died,

now that's a very casual phrase,

a casual mention that Isaiah writes.

And it's worth noting for us that a year king died is a very, very big deal.
