we are one third of the way through the 2026 season it's time to take a look back at the last third of last season and see if some of this year's early over or underperformers were maybe giving us some hints at the end of 2025 i've got joe or rico on the line to help me do just that here on the RotoWire fantasy baseball podcast.

O'Rico and Joe, who is having a better year this year, you with your fantasy teams or your

Toronto Blue Jays. Oh, man. It's not been great for either one of us. I mean, we both started

to pick things up a little bit recently. I was a huge Cade Cavali fan, and after a bit of a rough April, he's turned things around. You know, we're starting to get that leveling off that we see. You know, after the first couple weeks of the season, there's guys with 330 WRC plus and, you know, some crazy numbers. Some people are in the negatives, but now we are starting to see things level

off. So I'd probably give the nod to myself ever so slightly. I need to see those Blue Jays pick things up, but we're going to talk about one or two of them today. It's been some tough sledding, Eric. Yeah, two games under 500 for your Blue Jays, but so is the entire American League, it seems, so very much still in the race, going to be a weird season

there, unless a couple teams turn things around quickly. We're going to see some 82 win

playoff teams. If that, we'll see how that goes. Our main topic of today, which we'll get to

in about 10 minutes or so, is going to be a look back at the end of last season to see some players who were

trending up and trending down who have continued those trends so far this year. And as Joe alluded

to, some of his Blue Jays are on here, at least one notable name on the negative side. We'll get to that

soon, but would like to start with some

headlines. And Joe, let's start with a positive headline. Did you know that you and I are tied

with Christopher Sanchez in a key stat so far in the month of May? That is earned runs allowed,

or just straight up runs allowed. Christopher Sanchez has not allowed an earned run or a run period since April 30th.

He just threw seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts, no walks against the Padres yesterday.

To set a Phillies record, he's now thrown 44 and two-thirds consecutive scoreless

innings, break your record held by Grover Cleveland Alexander. I'm not sure when the last

time Grover Cleveland Alexander was mentioned on a fantasy podcast. But man, what a season from

Christopher Sanchez, although he's not even necessarily the clear NL Sy Young favorite. We have a

crazy race this year.
