Summary

It's Friday and that means Jonah Booker on the Bucknuts Morning 5. JBook joins Dave Biddle to discuss what will be the strength of Ohio State's defense this year: the defensive line. Are we expecting breakout seasons from sophomores J.T. TuimoloauJack Sawyer and Tyleik Williams? What are our thoughts on the many veteran D-linemen on the roster? And what is a main reason last year's defensive line did not play up to par?

Other items on the agenda include thoughts about C.J. Stroud putting on a show at pro day on Wednesday, the NFL offseason being the best reality show in the world right now and more.

All of that is coming your way on the Friday 5ish.

Good morning, Bucknotters. Welcome to the Bucknotts Morning 5 here on Friday, March 25th, 2022.

I am Dave Bittel. I'm joined by Jonah Booker for his usual Friday visit.

0:10.0

Dave booked a lot to get into. Let's start with Ohio State's defense of line.

0:14.0

Branday called it to be the strength of the defense. It's not a surprise to anybody.

0:19.0

We got a chance to meet with the defense of line in yesterday. What an impressive group.

0:23.0

I mean, it's an interesting fusion of excellent young talent, a lot of five star talent

0:28.0

throughout Ohio and Jack Sawyer. Tyler Williams wasn't a five star, but man,

0:32.0

he might be if they re-ranked him. And then, you know, a lot of veterans

0:36.0

that maybe, you know, fans have been a little disappointed with or, you know,

0:39.0

some guys that have played well at Jerome Cage and Toronto Vincent toward the end of last year.

0:43.0

Zach Harrison at times has been a disappointment, but I love having all those veterans around.

0:47.0

Just your overall thoughts on this D-line, Jay Book.

0:50.0

I think this defense of line has the potential to be one of the best in college football.

0:55.0

I know Jack Sawyer went talking to the media. He came out and said basically,

1:00.0

last year his words were, they got complacent and they were pretty much

1:07.0

thinking that just because they were in a lead defense of line in the past,

1:12.0

that it was going to pretty much automatically come to them this past year.

1:16.0

And to me, we all love Larry Johnson. I'll put it on Twitter.

1:20.0

But that falls right on him. He has to really make sure that those guys aren't

1:25.0

living on the pass of what Chase Young and the Bolster Brothers did.

1:30.0

Each season is a new season. If you don't bring your A game weekend and week out,

1:35.0

you will be exposed. But when it comes to the talent, I think you hit it on the head.
