On today's show, we're going to lean into the optimism.

Despite a big offseason, people are not expecting big things from the Jets in 2026.

In fact, an ESPN power ranking that came out this week put the Jets 31st of 32 teams in the league.

But there is a path for this team to surprise people. We're going to discuss what it is.

It includes figuring out the solutions to some big questions on defense. It includes

Gino Smith turning back the clock to his best days in Seattle. And it includes an immediate contribution from the rookie

class. And that's where we will begin. The Jets were one of the stories of the 2026 NFL draft.

And it's not a big surprise. The Jets entered the draft owning four of the top 44 picks.

Now, after a trade down, they ended up making four of the

top 50 selections. And whenever that happens, the buzz is usually going to be good leaving the draft.

Unless you do something really weird, unless you draft a guy or two, like a couple rounds

too early, you're generally going to receive good reviews because you're walking away

with more of the top players than any other team. And that was the entire plan the Jets had when

they made those deals at the deadline for involving Soss Gardner and Quinn and Williams.
