The Helium Boys Podcast returns for a breaking news edition with Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino reacting to the news, first revealed on The Peristyle by USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, of USC hiring defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn away from UCLA. Gerard Martinez also joins the show to give his initial reaction and some quick thoughts on the hire of Lynn.

The Helium Boys episode opens with the 'Two-Minute Drill' as each gives his initial reaction to the Trojans' new hire. They podcasting duo then break down what the hire means for the USC defense going forward and what Lynn's first initiative should be when he gets into the office at the McKay Center. They also select a player or two that Lynn should immediately begin working with that could jumpstart a defensive turnaround.

After a break, Gerard Martinez joins the show to give his thoughts and an initial break down of the defense. Shotgun and Chris then answer a couple of your questions from Twitter discussing where Lynn falls into the heirarchy of defensive coordinator candidates that appeared to be in the mix for the USC job. To close out the show, Chris and Shotgun put a letter grade on the hire of Lynn.
