I'm Kevin Ostracker. Join now by Tyler Rowland on Titans. And Tyler, I can just tell from your

expressions. This is not something. I don't think you had on your bingo card here. There are plenty of options for Tennessee. What was your reaction when you found out it was indeed, Cardinal tape? Look, the draft is crazy. Of course, you can never know which way a team is truly going to go. But anybody who was being logical was thinking, okay, if Jeremiah Love is there, they take Jeremiah Love, if it's one of the edge rushers. If they get crazy, if they really get saucy, maybe they take Sonny Stiles, a linebacker, fit with Robert Taylor. Cornell Tate was like, oh, he's a backstop, oh, that's a, you know, the math, they had the fourth pick. The math never led to Carnal Tate if all of those options were on the board.

But I think when Jeremiah Love goes off the board, if they truly want to help Cam Ward,

1:16.2

and they truly want to do what's best for their young quarterback, which ultimately is what's

1:20.6

most important for any franchise with a good young quarterback, you go with the offensive

weapon, whoever the best one on the board is.

1:26.5

And Carnell Tate was apparently that guy for them with Reese on the board,

1:31.0

with Sonny Stiles on the board.

1:32.6

Again, a little bit of a shocker, but it's not such a shocker.

1:36.5

There's obviously logic there as well.

And we know Tyler Tennessee has spent a lot of money this offseason

and even at the wide receiver position, there are new guys in the building. Where does Cardinal Tate fit in that receive room? And what is the potential you see he and Cam Ward having as a duo? Well, I think Cornell Tate is a perfect fit in the Tennessee Titans offense. You look at what the Titans have at the wide receiver group already. Again, it's not a great wide receiver room by any stretch of the imagination. But you have Calvin Ridley, you have Chim DK, both guys who can play a little bit outside in that Z spot. You sign Wondale Robinson to a big contract to be your slot guy. DK. and Ridley can both do a little bit of slot stuff as well. So you kind of have those two positions taken care of. What they didn't have is that physical X wide receiver.

Elicayo Manor was a rookie from last year, and he's a guy who you want to compete.

2:24.9

Maybe he takes a step forward and wins that battle.

2:27.9

But Cornell Tate as a 6-foot-2, 190-pound guy, skilled vertical receiver,

2:34.0

really polished route runner as well.

2:36.4

He can kind of step into that X wide receiver, that alpha wide receiver role for the Tennessee Titans

2:41.0

and fill a need that they didn't have right now.
