0:28.1	Tonight's episode, Breaking Silence, examining five women's claims against Tim Ballard.
0:35.5	Now, there's been a somewhat winding road to coming to this particular series of podcasts on my part. First off, we're all familiar with Tim Ballard and the lawsuits now plural that have been filed against him. The first was filed on behalf of five women. I reviewed the lawsuit in that case some weeks ago, but I did not go into the actual
0:58.0	statements of the five women, which were attached to the lawsuit. Then a second lawsuit was
1:04.3	filed against Tim Ballard by a couple, a non-Morman couple. And because that lawsuit pretty much mirrored the allegations and the lawsuit
1:14.2	in the first case, I went to the statements that were made by the wife and by the husband.
1:21.6	And I devoted an entire episode to each of those statements. It was in doing that that I realized
1:27.2	that I had missed something
1:29.9	important in the first lawsuit, and that was actually going to the statements of the women themselves.
1:36.1	In other words, there's the lawsuit. Then there's the five statements that are attached.
1:40.1	I went through the lawsuit, but I didn't go through the statements. That is an error on my part that I want to correct tonight and in the ensuing podcast on this subject.
1:50.7	I was so struck by the power of the detail of the statements in the husband and wife's suit,
1:57.1	the second lawsuit against Tim Ballard, that I knew that I had to go back and go
2:00.9	through the statements of the women in the first lawsuit and through that to give them a voice,
2:05.7	in a sense, through my voice, reading and reviewing their lawsuits. Now, the title of this has been
2:13.0	made somewhat more difficult. Another problem by the fact that when the attorneys for the five women
2:19.6	in the first lawsuit attach their statements to the lawsuit, they ended up attaching only four
2:26.4	statements of the women. They attached the first statement twice. In other words, there's two
2:32.2	copies of the first statement and then the other three statements by three women.
2:39.2	So there end up only being four statements in total.
2:42.7	Two of them are copied.
2:43.8	They do Exhibit A twice, and that is the statement of the person who is identified only by the false initials of
