What's up, SDS Nation, and welcome to a special live, breaking news edition of Surviving the Survivor, the podcast that promises to bring you the very best

guests in all of true crime. And yes, indeed, there is breaking news involving Sarah Boone.

As you'll recall, she was convicted at the very end of October. My memory serves me correctly.

It was October 29th.

A couple days before Halloween.

Today is Election Day, November 5th.

And already, the attorney for Sarah Boone has filed a motion for a new trial.

We're going to deconstruct that.

And hopefully in a little while,

Mark Natham and Orlando-based attorney will jump on.

But if not, I'm going to break it all down for you

and hopefully take your questions.

So, again, the headline here is Sarah Boone wants a new trial. No surprise. As you recall, Sarah Boone had a plea deal.

She rejected, and I'll discuss that a little later on. She would have been given time served,

and then would have only had to serve roughly eight years.

Now we are awaiting sentencing on December 2nd and the odds on the betting odds are that she's

going to be serving a whole lot more time than eight years.

So, you know, did she shoot herself in the foot by not taking that plea deal?

Universally, defense attorneys who I've spoken to said a thousand percent, she should have taken

that, but she did not. So now she's got to, as they say, make her own bed and sleep in it. And in this case, I guess you could say it's a cot.
