Republicans in Louisiana are pledging to cancel an ongoing election, primary election that is on May 16th in an effort to redistrict their state to gerrymander out the black majority districts, the two black majority districts currently in Louisiana.

This morning, according to the Washington Post, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry

has told Republican House candidates that he now plans to suspend next month's primary

elections so that state lawmakers can pass new congressional maps first.
