Summary
Police have arrested a prominent New York architect in connection with the Gilgo Beach serial killings. Rex Heuerman,59, is charged in the murders of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello. Â
The women's remains were found along Gilgo Beach in Long Island within 500 feet of each other. However, investigators have found a total of six other women, a man, and a toddler deceased on the beach, totaling eleven bodies.Â
The four murder victims dubbed the Gilgo Four, were found wrapped in burlap. Heuermann, who claims he is innocent, is charged so far with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder. More charges are expected.
