On Thursday afternoon the Pac-12 CEOs met and voted unanimously to play a seven game conference-only season starting on November 6 with a championship game on December 18, finishing up just before the College Football Playoff committee releases its final rankings on December 20. In theory, a Pac-12 team could now make the College Football Playoffs, but with only 7 games it will likely be a longshot. But for now, the Pac-12 is joining the other Power Five conferences in an attempt to finish the 2020 football season before Christmas, something that was unthinkable only a couple of weeks ago.
