Today we are covering the dramatic conclusion,

or is it really, of the high profile Karen Reed murder trial.

After days of intense deliberations, Judge Beverly Canoney has declared a mistrial in this contentious case that has

captivated the nation. Wow okay well I'm not entirely surprised seeing as

this has torn apart the United States in the decision,

and we shouldn't be that surprised that it is also

torn apart the jury.

So let's break down the events that led to this outcome.

Our story begins last Friday

when the jury sent their first note to Judge Canone.

Despite what they described as an exhaustive review

and diligent consideration of the evidence,

the jurors reported that they were unable to reach a unanimous verdict.

This was the first indication that the deliberations were not going smoothly.

Fast forward to Monday morning, the deadlock was confirmed.

By Monday morning, the situation had not improved.

Shortly before 11 a.m. the jury sent another note, confirming they remained at an impasse.

The note read, quote, Judge Kanoni, despite our commitment to the duty entrusted to us,

we find ourselves deeply divided by fundamental differences
