For those of you wondering what's happened to PFTPM, instead of doing it on a regular basis, we're saving it for big moments, things that happened during the course of the day that require an immediate reaction.

The Jets have fired head coach Robert Sala. That requires an immediate reaction. Now, I'll peel

back the curtain a bit and tell you, I have no script, I have no plan, I have no notes. I might

have no thoughts. We're going to find out as I spew them over the course of the next

five, ten, fifteen or twenty minutes, however long until I have nothing left to say about it.

The first thing I have to say about it, though, is dysfunctional teams do dysfunctional things.

That's a line that I picked up from our good friend Big Cat years ago, and it continues to bubble up because,

and I made this point about the Jets on Monday with Chris on PFT Live, the weekly Sasquatch

sighting of Chris Sims on PFT Live. It starts at the top and it always trickles down.

That's where the dysfunction comes from.

The owners hide behind football operations,

but the owners always have a spoon in the stew,

and it's always the most influential spoon.

It goes the deepest, and it agitates the most thoroughly.

What they want, they get.

And when they want it, they get it. And look, I know

somebody had to take the fall because Woody Johnson's home away from home is England. He was

the ambassador. If you didn't know or if you'd forgotten under the first Trump administration,

if there's a second one, he wants to go back.

So for him to get embarrassed that way, his team losing in London, that adds to whatever it was that was already percolating inside him to make this change.
