That is the sound and sights, if you could watch this, of Joe Biden making his first

public appearance in Dover, Delaware on his way back

to the White House just yesterday afternoon. He was peppered with questions from reporters in the

press pool there and answered none of them. He looked visibly confused at one point when he

landed in Washington, D.C., when he was asked why he dropped out of his reelection race. Biden

is expected to address the nation

at 7 o'clock tonight, central time, 8 Eastern. It's unclear what he's going to address other than

his ongoing dementia, health issues, and dropping out of his reelection bid.

The director of the Secret Service resigned yesterday in the aftermath of the

assassination attempt on former President Donald Frump that unleashed an outcry about how the

agency failed in its core mission to protect the current and former presidents. Kimberly

Cheathel, who had served as Secret Service Director since August of 2022, faced growing calls

to resign in several investigations into how a gunman was able to get so close to the Republican presidential nominee at an outdoor campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

She said in an email to staff obtained by media, quote, I take full responsibility for the security lapse.
