Summary

This week, Kat talks with Cait West, author of Rift: A Memoir of Breaking Away From Christian Patriarchy. Cait shares about her childhood growing up in the Christian patriarchy and how she found the strength to escape a life of serving the men around her. She was homeschooled and expected to live at home as a stay-at-home daughter until her father allowed her to marry a man he chose for her. No college and definitely no career. As she grew older something deep inside Cait told her this wasn’t how life was supposed to be – and in her 20s she did the most brave thing, she left to build a life of her own, getting a real job for the first time and eventually graduating college and starting a career as an editor.
