I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the Monday edition of the yard.

19 days away from the opening of Mississippi State's college football season.

We'll have college football here in a couple weeks. It won't be the same, but you know how it is, right?

You want to have a chance to sit and kind of watch and get hopeful because, you know, really, nothing gets us fired up more than watching our team play and watching teams that we're going to play, watching the Southeastern Conference. You know, it's the best conference in all college sports, so it's fun to get together and watch those things, and it brings a lot of discussion, you know, and there's always

going to be the hot take, right? There's always going to be that team, the SEC team that, you know,

hammer somebody in week one. You're like, hey, look at this. And then they go four and eight, five and

seven, you know, and it happens every year, every year. There'll always be that one team in week one or

week two. And this team may challenge for the SEC.

Doesn't always work out that way, right?

But so today we're going to talk about a lot of things, a lot of football stuff today.

No baseball on the show today, even though tomorrow I'm going to be meeting with Justin Parker,

your new pitching coach, and we're going to go over the pitching lab.

I'm going to do my best to write an article about what exactly is the pitching lab.

What do they do in the pitching lab?

Are we building pitchers there, right?

Not just literally but figuratively. We'll see. So we look forward to that,

and baseball practice starts on Wednesday, but our primary focus right now is college football.

And it's taking us a long time kids. And like, it's interesting, one of our posters brought up

on the message board today about how August is kind of like the

worst month of the year, I kind of tend to agree, except for the fact that at least camps are open, right? I mean, yeah, we started getting preseasoned NFL games and stuff. You know, the month of July, there's like nothing. You know, college World Series ends and you're like, if you're an MLB fan, I guess you get the All-star break and home run derby and all that kind of stuff that used to mean so incredibly much to us but

yeah August is tough and I think a lot of it you know camps open so for us you know in the media
