something here um it's one of those like i saw it and i'm like boom push record so who is this

noah phelan i don't know if that's a person that's, nope, nobody really is, we need to know.

Bears fan, I presume. On X, he says, Adam Schaefter basically shut down any Max Crosby to the Bears

speculation on ESPN. Quote, the Bears don't have the money to make a move like that right now. They can't afford it.

He called the idea of them finding a way to free up a bunch of money, a fantasy. Now, I've got to be

honest, and I guess shame on me. I've been saying, you know, we'll look at the NFC North and

whatnot a little bit later and whatever, at least as far as more in depth,

we've been trying to keep track. But I haven't really looked at their salary cap situations.

And so I was a little bit surprised to hear him say that. And by the way, whether he's talking

about salary cap or not is debatable. We'll get to that. But it prompted me to go look and be like,

well, how bad could it possibly be?

They probably have, you know, I mean, I was actually surprised to hear that we had almost the most

in the, I don't know, NFC or something. I think the most in the NFC North for sure.

And we don't have a ton. I mean, teams have like $100 million worth a salary cap. I know a lot of that gets spent at

this point, but I was kind of surprised to hear that 30 million, or, you know, we have like

25 million now, was actually that much. But anyways, I'm like, let's just go look at what the

bears have because they don't have that many people that are worth much. They have right now $2 million in cap space. Not only at this

moment do they not have the cap space for Max Crosby. They don't have enough cap space, period.
