Late last week, news broke that the Department of Justice is preparing to bring upwards

of 45 new charges against former president Donald J. Trump.

Known as superseding indictments, this second set of charges will include more serious crimes,

and represents another great blow to Trump, as he desperately tries to evade justice.

Now it's all part of special prosecutor Jack Smith's grand strategy to grind Trump down

and force those around him to flip or face prison themselves.

In addition, they may decide to bring those additional charges in a separate venue,

depending on the actions of Judge Eileen Cannon,

who is currently overseeing the case against Trump in the Southern District of Florida,

and has previously shown undue deference to the twice-indicted, twice-in-peached former president.

According to the Independent, the team of federal prosecutors working on the Special

Council Jack Smith is currently prepared to add an additional 30 to 45 charges,

in addition to the 37-counton indictment brought against Mr. Trump,
