I'm Kevin Ostricker, joined now by Matt Derry from Locked on Lions.

And Matt, after beefing up the offensive line in round one, the lions go and they beef up

the defensive line by trading up for Derek Moore in round two. Why the trade up and why do you think

Detroit wanted to beef up the trenches on defense? Well, how about this, Kevin? First and foremost,

Lions fans have to be so happy. Tackle at 17, edge in round two, supposed to be at 50. Turns out to be

at 44, but that's exactly the blueprint that Lions fans, including me, wanted to see.

Interesting with Moore, Jesse Minter and the Ravens were sitting at 45.

Remember, Jesse Minter was Derek Moore's defensive coordinator, his freshman year at

U of M.

So I think the Lions might have thought, uh-oh, Ravens need an edge, which they did go and get,

but let's go get Derek Moore and move up six spots.

But I think the Lions felt like if Baltimore liked him and Jesse Minner wanted him, the Lions wanted to move up and get him.
