All right, time to break some balls.

You know what the problem is with the 2026 Red Sox?

And I will say, frankly, the Red Sox of 2020 through 2026.

And those are the teams that were built by Hyam Bloom and Craig Bresloh,

largely admittedly, some had that in the middle of a rebuild.

But here is the problem.

When you watch these guys operate, you feel like you're sometimes teaching remedial English.

So the Red Sox missed some of the most obvious points that we've learned over the years from watching the team because their executives were born in a modern era,

which is fine, everybody ages, and there is turnover.

But because of that, some of the most basic principles of team building in Boston have been

completely lost.

So, for example, relative to other places like Tampa, Milwaukee,

and we've talked about this, Tampa, Milwaukee, Kansas City, smaller to mid markets,

the media scrutiny, the fan intensity, much higher in Boston than those other places,

even if it's not the same as it used to be. So the point being that it's not as easy

to integrate a young player in this market and expect him to succeed without support in both

the clubhouse and on the field as it is in other places. That should be obvious. But Red Sox executives

who've never lived through it probably don't understand

that until they witness it and then go, oh, you have to do it this way, which is what has

happened with Roman Anthony, for instance. For that matter, Christian Campbell as well. And I'll say

this again, I think Christian Campbell is cashed. It's over. His OPS in the

minor leagues right now at AAA is under 700. He has way more strikeouts than hits. He looks like a
