Today, Stephanie Eichhorn, she was 38 years old before she bought her first motorcycle. And when she bought

that bike, she couldn't have imagined how far it would take her, not only in distance from her home,

but how far it would take her from that structured German life she'd grown up in and learned to live in.

About a decade after she bought the bike, she actually packed up and hit the road permanently.

She left her home in Portugal, where she was living at the time. She went off to the deserts of

Saudi Arabia, the mountains of the Balkans, and now she's deep in Africa. Stephanie has faced

war-altered routes, shifting borders, and she's had a constant battle between structure and spontaneity.

She's learned to let go, to roll with the unexpected, and to discover that the most unforgettable

moments happen when plans fall apart, just like Ted Simon said.

But here's the thing. She's not chasing fame or followers. She's not doing it for anyone else.

She's doing it purely for herself, for her experience in life. You got to wonder, what drives

somebody to trade certainty and structure for adventure? Stick around. I think this is one of those
