Summary

Hey there hip cats (never do that again). We actually had the idea of not putting up an episode this week because we're a bit strapped for time thanks to our time at EGX Rezzed. Do not fret though dear listeners, for we've put together an emergency podcast just to help keep you at bay.

So for this short episode of BRB UK, Coleman and Tim have brought in friend of the show Dipak to talk about someone who has been the topic of discussion for a while in the game's industry… Peter Molyneux.

Hi, hello and welcome to Big Red Barrel UK's. Oh, I'll try that again. That's fine. I'm going to interrupt you even quicker than normal this week anyway because we've got less time on our hands. Got less time. Can't mess around, come and let's go. I didn't do the things. It's fine. Just go, go, go, go, go, go.

0:53.7

Do you want to explain why we have less time? No, no, I don't now. You've interrupted me for the last time, Hibbs. We don't, it's literally the plot of destiny now. We don't have time to tell you, why we don't have time to tell you, why we don't have time to tell you. Do you know what?

0:57.6

Just because you've brought that line up and I absolutely, I hate that line.

1:15.9

So I'm going to explain why we don't have time to explain, while we don't have time to explain, what we don't have time to explain. Yes, we're off at EGX Res tomorrow from recording. So this is Wednesday night and we're off on the Thursday, where we go up and set up shop with our beautiful big red barrel store to go and sell all the all the board games and to meet people and make friends and stuff so that's all going to be great but that means we have very little

1:21.2

time for podcasting as John fans may know we record on a Thursday and as we're doing the work on

1:26.8

a Thursday at least very little podcasting time. And we decided to do a very short episode today. Hopefully it goes out on the Thursday, if I can get this right. If we can get it done, and if we keep it short enough. So this is more of a half episode. This will be a half hour we're aiming for kind of thing. So Tim is going to take the reins as he loves to do. Yeah, and also part of the problem there is we kind of forgot to mention last week with all our excitement and chatting to Tim Brown that we weren't going to do a podcast this week. We were going to do something maybe from the floor, but yeah, not an actual episode. But we managed to come up with an extra little treat that we think's worthwhile

2:02.4

we've had a series of guests in the last few weeks that have been uh but quite frankly a phenomenal

2:07.8

series of guests we think really good really interesting and uh this one's a bit different

2:12.1

whereas we've had guests he's not interesting no no no no no no just from a different

2:16.4

perspective in terms of the uh it's an interesting guest that we think is, you know, it's going to be an interesting chat. But generally, the people we've had on the last few weeks have either been people we've approached and just asked to come on because they're people that we like and are good podcasters or just people that we know from the industry that we thought would be interesting to chat to. And this is someone that isn't in the games industry, but has been mentioned on the podcast a couple of times before.

2:39.8

So we thought it would be interesting to get him on for a quick chat.

2:42.3

And rather than people that we've been, as I said, friendly within the industry, this is actually a lifelong friend of mine that, yeah, I've kind of bought on.

3:24.3

But as I said, we mentioned them on the podcast a couple of times because this is the man that invested a bit of money in goddess. So, yeah, this is my friend Dipak, and yeah, we're going to chat to him a bit about that investment. So basically tell us a little bit about yourself, whatever you want to share. Well, actually, I know you well. Let's not go there. Whatever you want to share, let's keep a PG. Yeah, let's go from there. But yeah, and then, yeah, just kind of introduce. I think it was £5,000 that you invested in, Goddess's Indie-Go-Go campaign, I believe. It was, it was. And hi there, guys.

3:25.0

Hi.

3:26.5

This is the bit where I get to speak now, isn't it? Yep, yep.

3:27.3

It's all good. Jesus, I've known in my whole life. You think I'll get used to it. Yeah, don't get too used to be able to speak. Yes, I know. Cheers, guys. Great to be here. My name is Deepak. I did invest in goddess, and it was a significant amount of money, and even at the time,

3:41.4

I remember there's a bit of hoo-ha on why I would want to invest that kind of money.

3:47.2

But with a Kickstarter, you do it because you see something that you're passionate about,
