Summary

Croatia took Brazil to penalties and misery, and the Netherlands very nearly repeated the day's earlier surprise against Argentina. The Tifo team discuss the above and more. They are joined by Carl Anka to do so. And points are bad. They're really, really bad.

Hello and welcome to the TIFO football podcast. I'm Joe Devine and I'm delighted to be joined by Seb Halford's Floor. Back from Germany. You had a couple of days off there, Halford's Floor, didn't you? Feel better for it. Yeah. You feel refreshed? And a bit worse because I kind of stopped, relaxed, felt worse. Right. Then came back. And then improved. And you've improved. You've come back In a green jumper Yeah Lovely jumper A great man to do that On internet live streams Any form of internet broadcast wearing green That is the second time Someone said something like that Doesn't think it through Does you go Yeah It's good You're on the blue screen And we're not doing anything special. So nothing to worry about. I actually think that colour looks lovely on you and I'm happy to see you. It does. Yeah. Also happy to see JJ Ball, who's in a Christmas France jumper. Yeah. Yes. Is there a method behind your choice today? Because, of course, available in the office,

1:43.3

Yes. Yes, exactly. That's exactly what I'm doing. And the other voice here you can hear in the room is we're delighted to be joined, of course, by Carl, Anger. Hi, Carl. Hi, buddy. What are you doing? What are you wearing? This is a Como FC jersey. Oh. The team that's Fabigas now applies this trade for.

2:21.9

And they've got a nifty little program called Como for Como. So you get a shirt and some of the money goes to local services in the region. Yeah. Is that a fish? That's just the sponsor. That's the sponsor. I'm a fan of that sponsor's logo. It's a streaming platform, I believe. Oh, well, there we go. Learn something every day. Right, fine. Listen, we've got so much to get through today. An incredible, incredible day of football, I think it's fair to say. We're going to talk about

2:25.9

Netherlands, Argentina, and we're going to talk about Brazil, Croatia as well. And, of course,

2:31.7

there'll be a little bit of time for points of bad. But, Sep, have you enjoyed yourself today? I mean, it was a huge day, first of the quarterfinals, in a footballing sense, it really paid off. It felt like an assault of football, just because it's being so dramatic. I think the cost, when you have two great games back to back, I think the cost is sort of the hour of the second game that you sort of ignore. You watch it and it happens in front of you, but you don't really digest any of it at all. Yes. And it felt like I'd been hit in the face a little bit by Brazil against Croatia. So don't ask me about anything that happened in the first bit of Holland against. I think one of the fun things about a game that becomes 2-2 later on and goes to penalties is that you don't really need to talk about the first hour. I felt like I needed the comeback to pick me up for the live stream. Like I didn't have a lot of energy before the Dutch brought about to 2-2. Sure. But I'm sort of back, a little deflated by the penalty loss. Yeah. kind of kind of felt behind. Well, talk about deflating.
