Summary
#237. Brandon Wright is the founder of BRNKL, a Vancouver-based tech startup focused on remote monitoring systems for boats. Brandon & I originally connected on Instagram and immediately hit it off. His sailing, tech & entrepreneurial background ticks all the boxes of my own personal interests, so it was a blast talking to and learning from Brandon about how he got his fledgling business off the ground. He has a background in surveillance, having worked for the US Military in the middle east, creating home systems for Arab sheikhs and more. Brandon's lightbulb moment to start BRNKL came when his own sailboat broke it's mooring in the middle of the night and ended up on the rocks…
On the Wind is presented by Rutgerson Marin. And also supported by Adlard Coles, and Weems & Plath.

And they're just getting ready to move their stuff on board. And we're heading north. So I don't know how long we'll be off the grid, but I have to say so far Spitzbergen, the Svalbard Archipelago, it is absolutely blown our minds. We spent four days down in the south part in a in a fjord called Horn Sund. We've seen our first polar bear already. We were hanging out with a couple walrus. I got to walk around on the pack ice. We had East Bjorn's bow stuck right into the ice. |

| 1:37.2 | but we've had snow almost every day we're here. Mia was doing a night watch on anchor, |
| 1:42.1 | woke up to like an inch or two of snow in the cockpit. |
| 2:01.5 | We got to go hiking on a glacier. And just the scale and the remoteness of everything. I mean, there's no rules. It's like the Wild West up here. You can just go wherever you want to and do whatever you want to do. And there's no signs. There's no handrails. There's no, there's no nothing. You're truly on your own. and the further north and the further northeast we get, |
| 2:01.5 | just the more extreme that's going to be um so it's been a really spectacular trip so far and |
