Summary

September 12, 2019. Asheboro, North Carolina. On the afternoon of September 12, 2019, 33-year-old Brandon Embry was discovered naked and unresponsive in a pool of his own blood and water on the bedroom floor of his apartment in Asheboro, North Carolina. He died from his injuries less than 24 hours later. Although his entire apartment was smashed up and turned upside down, and despite multiple blunt and sharp force injuries and bruising to his body, his cause of death is listed as pneumonia.

1:14.0	And more than 30 years ago, he had a 22-year-old babysitter named Terry McCurchy.
1:20.0	And when his mother returned, he was clenching his fists and was acting lethargic.
1:28.0	And when she had him checked out, it turned out that he seemed to have suffered from abusive head trauma, also known as Shaken Baby Syndrome.
1:38.0	Now at the time, McCurchy had said that little Benjamin had fallen off the couch.
1:44.0	She didn't do anything. But she ended up taking a plea deal at the time.
1:48.0	Originally, she had faced charges of attempted murder and aggravated child abuse.
1:54.0	And that's why she took a plea deal.
1:58.0	Well, Benjamin Keith Dowling died September 16, 2019.
2:02.0	He was 35.
2:04.0	It's a long time later.
2:06.0	But he had suffered this whole time to give you an idea.
