It's a pleasure to be here and it's great to see you again after these many years. Yeah, I was just thinking, what was it maybe 12, 13 years ago? You were actually at my place. Yeah, it's your house. Yeah, yeah. It was the first year I moved here. That was 2013. Wow. So it's 13 years. We had like an after party from a prepper expo or something like that that you were at. That's exactly. You were very kind to invite us over, so thank you. Yeah, I enjoyed having you here, man. That's bragging rights, right? Let's start off with, you know, I usually ask ask people like how'd you get into what you're doing

you know you take us back to your spaced out and study hall in high school or something let's

let's go a little bit further than that though in your life how did you get start writing books in

the first place and what made you choose kind of this like special operations military contractor

type niche because it's a it's not an

uncompetitive niche to be in no no no that's a great question so i always wanted to be an author

my dad wanted me to either go in and take over his business the family business or go into kind of

the i had tilted towards the entertainment world he wanted me to go into kind of the, I had tilted towards the entertainment world.

He wanted me to go into film financing, so just business, business, business.

And in the middle of my college career, I actually switched out of being a business administration major

into creative writing and film and television production.

Didn't tell my dad, didn't officially change my major till about 48 hours before graduation.

And so, anyway, when I graduated college, I had worked through college, I took the money that I had saved and decided I was going to do something.

No American had ever done before, Jack.

I was going to move to Paris and write a novel.

Never been to that's my original. So original, right? I don't know. People tried some

Joker named Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Never heard of those guys, Henry Miller.

So I decided to go over to Paris. I had a friend who had an extra room and I checked up at that

apartment and started writing what turned out to be a thriller.

And I got a few chapters into it and I started having that voice in the back of my head that I
