Welcome to Week 4 of my BQ or Bust journey as I train for the 2024 Chicago Marathon with one big goal: qualifying for the Boston Marathon. The piriformis issues that scared me and slowed me down are nearly behind me, and I'm rediscovering my speed and confidence. This week proved that patience with injury recovery pays off—and that the comeback is always sweeter than the setback. My mantra remains: WHY NOT. Why not push through the doubt? Why not trust the process? Why not believe I'm capable of more than I think? Throughout this series, you'll get real, unfiltered marathon training—the highs, the lows, the injury scares, and the breakthrough moments that make it all worth it.

I'm trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon at the Chicago Marathon this year. I just finished week four of half marathon training. We are now officially, oh my God, I almost said eight weeks. We're not almost eight weeks there. We're not. We're 12 weeks away, which is very exciting.
