John, the first question today is relevant as we slide into yet another midterm election season,

and it's about preaching on politics,

not candidates or proposals specifically, but the ideas that the parties kind of represent,

especially primary moral issues like marriage and life and religious liberty. This person writes

in, I'm sad to say that my church has avoided addressing

issues like transgenderism, homosexuality, et cetera. We have a Bible preaching minister who seems to

have an unexplainable disconnect between the scriptures in both the New Testament and the Old

Testament and their relevance to what's going on today. It's been a hurtful experience for us,

as well as other connected couples

in our church. My minister told me that I just didn't understand how some people would come to

his office and fuss at him when he preached a sermon on abortion or homosexuality. We told him,

it's about sin, not politics, but he said we didn't understand. Are you hearing this from others?

And how should I respond as a member of our church? Yeah, we are hearing it from a lot of people. And I think it's a real

issue. There's issues here, multiple issues here. One is, is that so many congregants have been so

overtaken by the political news cycle that if their pastor doesn't speak about it every week
